My lab studies the pathologic properties of the protein tau. We are interested in better understanding how the unfolded protein response contributes to the development of tauopathies. My current projects are aimed at using MRI techniques to develop a reliable, non-invasive method to detect neuronal dysfunction in vivo to enable reliable early detection of neurodegenerative conditions including Alzheimer's disease.
